What Are Cereal Grains?

Grains are considered to be part of the breakfast cereals. There are many of them prepared like oatmeal, popcorn, tortillas, waffles and the like and they are rich in vitamins such as Vitamin E and Vitamin B. Some of them also contain selenium, zinc and magnesium. All of them are thus excellent food choice for healthy and growing children. The whole world has been reworking the recipes of these to make them more probiotic containing. The least processed forms of cereals are advisable for your consumption.

Boiled Wheat Flour: It has 3g of acid and 7g of carbohydrates per 100g. However, it has only trace of Vitamin B and Iron.

Whole Wheat Flour: It has 70% of the daily amount of the 6 nutrients. Only 30% of the intake is from proteins and only 10% from fat.

Popcorn: It is one of the best sources of dietary fiber. Some exclude it from the category of cereals altogether.

Oatmeal: One of the best sources of complex carbohydrates.

Why is oatmeal better than cornflour?

The main difference between the two, in my opinion, lies in the fact that flours and oils that are processed from corn are all cooked at very high temperatures causing a cancer inducing effect called free radicals. Corn, in my opinion is also most dangerous from a suppression effect, this means that it reduces your immune system’s response somewhat.

In addition, in my opinion, the suggested maximum is about 10g of carbohydrates per day for men and women. This is equivalent to about one cornflour package daily.

Vitamin B in Corn

One of the well known and popular vitamin B is vitamin B1. It is often included in the cereals for this reason. Vitamin B1 is also included in bread, porridge and many frozen meals. It is also one of the suggested ingredients in many weight loss products.

Protein in Popcorn

Most people, and I mean most people, consume way more protein that is needed. And that has been a mistake ever since we were all running around naked and had to find food to eat because our bodies were a little low on protein. Now we have learned a lot of wonderful tips for vegans and vegetarians and they have come to the conclusion that some protein is ok and some is needed. Now, don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean that you need a steer skinny and all meat, but that you need to have a moderate amount of meat, and I am pretty sure that you have heard it a million times already, but the more you workout the more protein you need. By moderately, I mean an egg, a piece of toast, two pieces of chicken, or a cup of cottage cheese. And as far as snacks go, I am not including chocolate chips, potato chips, coke, you get the idea. You can eat those at any time, they don’t make you any less healthy, but the point is that you don’t need them as a snack. Just thinking about them gets your salivary glands going, and the food companies are not stupid, they only use sugar, because we have convinced ourselves that we need it.

And the funny thing is, you feel the need to have it, and you feel a need to have it throughout the day, and you wonder why your aren’t as healthy as those other whiz kids. Just the other day I was on my way to work and, I was thinking about a burger joint, and I decided to get a veggie burger. Just as I was about to put it in my purse, this little dinger I had decided to swallow was there.
